Isaiah 58:9-11 (The Message) 6-9"This is the kind of fast day I'm after:
to break the chains of injustice, get rid of exploitation in the workplace, free the oppressed, cancel debts. What I'm interested in seeing you do is: sharing your food with the hungry, inviting the homeless poor into your homes, putting clothes on the shivering ill-clad, being available to your own families. Do this and the lights will turn on, and your lives will turn around at once. Your righteousness will pave your way. The God of glory will secure your passage. Then when you pray, God will answer. You'll call out for help and I'll say, 'Here I am.' A Full Life in the Emptiest of Places9-12"If you get rid of unfair practices, quit blaming victims, quit gossiping about other people's sins, If you are generous with the hungry and start giving yourselves to the down-and-out, Your lives will begin to glow in the darkness, your shadowed lives will be bathed in sunlight. I will always show you where to go. I'll give you a full life in the emptiest of places— firm muscles, strong bones. You'll be like a well-watered garden, a gurgling spring that never runs dry. You'll use the old rubble of past lives to build anew, rebuild the foundations from out of your past. You'll be known as those who can fix anything, restore old ruins, rebuild and renovate, make the community livable again.

Well The Vegas trip as awesome of course no suprise God is good all the time. We arrived in Vegas by faith cause I lost the map, God totally made a way though and Evelyn was able to find an old card from last year with someones phone number on it from Vegas. We got there in time for 2nd service and Tim was doing the worship, it was awesome. We did not make the first service where they have a lot of homeless people bussed in. But we went to breakfast with a sister there who we met from MyChurch and fellowshiped a bit there, then they let us follow them to the Rescue Mission. When we got there we didn't know what to do, but everyone was so sweet and we quickly got to work, some of us cleaned while others prepaired for the first round of feeding. We fed the 100 or so men and women that are in the program then we cleaned and got ready to serve the people who come off the street for a soup bowl. (I broke a pepper shaker and it came out of my pay J/K) But I broke one cause it slipped out of my hand and I felt so bad..... But yeah after we got done there we got in our car and headed home with a lot of love and a rekindled fire in our hearts. We made so many friends there like Karen and her mom, and Mark, Robert but one person that we immediatly befriended was David. David had been in the program for 8 months and lived there at the Mission He stays to help even though he is free to come and go as He pleases, David is a member of our Vegas church and He has an awesome testimoney. When we first met David had asked us if we came to check out the Vegas VBF and we told him yeah we went but that was not the reason for our trip, and he was like well why did you guys come from Bakersfield if it wasnt for the church, and my sister began to tell him that we came spacificlly to serve at the mission and he was SHOCKED! He kept saying here, to come here, and we kept telling him yes! It floored him how much effort we would go just to serve at the mission and for us it wasnt a big deal but I guess he needed to see what far leanghts God will go to love and provide for his Ministries. We were Honored and humbled to serve at the Vegas Mission and I doubt it will be the last time we go. There was so much to say but that was the just of it, another thing that happened was we all bonded and laughed and cried and fellowshiped the whole 5 hour trip up there. It was just an awesome time all around! Pictures will be up soon.....

>cornbread
>people interested in making chili
>desserts
>water
>bowls
people that have signed up so far:
>sharon- cornbread
>darling- cornbread
>me and amy- chili
***let me know by sunday if u r going to join us to Vegas. I need to get a head count.***
this is the plan so far:
we will be meeting at about 5am for coffee and prayer before we head out and hope to get there for first service, go out to the park with nextstep ministries at 11:30 then head out to the rescue mission and help out. though i know we have a great time whever we go, please view this trip not as a pleasure trip but a missionary journey. those who say yes i will be calling you the week before so we can pray and prepare the way for this trip. i really think God has something big planned for two fish thru this trip and i know he'll let us know when he's good and ready. pray before you answer yes or no
those who are stress about getting back late sunday to go to work the next day, it is veteran's day so i don't know if that info helps or not but just thought i'd let u know.
>so like i said let me know.
Depending on how many people go depends on which car is used so we will try to make it as cheap as possible meaning just sharing gas and paying for our meals.
who knows maybe someone at vegas church will hook us up with some grub.ha ha

From Clara
Hey Homies, It's Clara and I want two encourage everyone who has outreach pictures that you think should be posted on the site or in the ministry movie, e-mail them 2 Amy. so she can post. Idelia had brought up a very important topic at the park this past weekend. She said why don't we start a fellowship night. We haven't had one since last summer. It was a pool party at Betty's, i think a few of you all where there. post ur suggestions, think out of the box. i also wanted to discuss reaching out in "Out of the Box ministry", since 2Fish is not a church ran ministry or under any organization, we are not limited to what we can do. So if there are any suggestions in that area post them. of course, we still need 2 put it before God and be in agreement within the group on which suggestion! s 2 do, but feel free to let us know what brewing up there! (in ur mind) Love yak all and thanks for everything. It is truely a honor 2 serve our Father along side you fellow JesusFreaks! see ya, Clara.

Compassion In Action
Mood: Topic: 1st Blog Log Hello All, Last week we were out at MLK park it was amazing! We had a little over 120 signatures. God only knows how many people got fed and had a cold drink. As always God met needs and showed his compassion to people. They spent a little time thanking God for their meal and that alone is worth the effort and withstanding the heat and taking the time out of our Sundays to hang out with Jesus. Praise the Lord for lightening the load to an already heavy burdened peoples. Hold on to the instructions of Our Lord.
Matthew 25:40 (New International Version) 40"The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me."
